NEXPLANON IMPLANT (etonogestrel)

Nexplanon is preferably fitted during:

• the 1^st five days of a lady’s cycle
• Or if the lady is currently on another effective form of contraception
• Or if the lady has abstained from penetrative SI since last period
• Postpartum nexplanon is fitted 21-28 days after delivery
• Or 21-28 days after a TOP or miscarriage in the second trimester
• Nexplanon is fitted within 5 days of a TOP or miscarriage in the first trimester
• The lady needs to use other form of contraception for 7 days post fitting

Appointment takes approx. 20 minutes with a chaperone present.
